The Human Body has 10 main systems
The Respiratory System is a system of organs in the body that help you breathe. The respiratory system gets rid of carbon dioxide and deliver oxygen all over your body. There are 4 big parts in the respiratory system. They are the lungs (main part of the respiratory system, oxygen is taken into the lungs and delivered to the other organs and carbon dioxide is released from the body), the bronchi ( two pipes that carry's oxygen directly to the lungs), the trachea (filters the air we breathe into branches of the bronchi), and the diaphragm (where breathing starts)
The Circulatory System is the bodies transport system. It helps pump blood, with the heart, to all of your bodies organs through arteries and veins. Veins carry blood towards the heart, and arteries carry blood away from the heart to other organs. The Aorta is the biggest artery in you body and it sends oxygen rich blood from the left side of your heart.
The Digestive system helps break down the food you eat into proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and fats that your body need for energy, growth and repair. Your food gets chewed with help from your teeth and tongue. It then goes down the esophagus and into the stomach where it is broken down more by stomach acids. Then, it goes down the small intestines where the nutrients can enter the blood stream and the extra waste will leave the body.
The Endocrine System is the systems that helps send hormones through a group of glands. Hormones are chemicals that control body functions. The glands that are in this system are in the picture. The functions the hormones control are metabolism, growth and sexual development.
The Immune System helps your body play defense against a team called "infections and diseases," Different parts of the body like organs, cells and tissues help fights these infections and diseases. The parts of this system are in the picture.
The Lymphatic system is also another defense system. It's jobs are to filter off organisms that cause diseases, produces white blood cells and makes disease fighting organisms. Organs apart of the Lymphatic system are in the picture. This system also sends nutrients around the body. It's made up of vessels that help transfer nutrients and fluids around the body.
The Reproductive System is the system humans use to reproduce. Sperm is the reproductive cells men have that fertilize eggs, which are the females reproductive cells. Men are born with testicles that produce sperm. Women are born with a certain amount eggs. The fertilized egg travels through Fallopian tubes in the women and the eggs grows in the uterus over a nine month period.
The Skeletal System is the system of bones in the body that shape our body. There are also joints, tendons, bone marrow and ligaments that are in the skeletal system. Bone Marrow produces red blood cells, white blood cells and immune system cells. Joints are where bones connect. Tendons are tights bands of materials that connects muscles to bones. Ligaments connects bones to other bones.
The Nervous System is the system of nerves that control body functions. This system sends messages to the parts of the body to tell them what to do. It's made up of the brain, spine and and nerves.
The Muscular System is the system of muscles in the body. It's made up or tissues, which are muscles, that work with the skeletal system to control body movements.
